1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the website at vesselrdp.com and downloading or using the Vessel RDP software ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, all applicable laws and regulations, and you accept responsibility for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site and the Software.

2. License

The Software is proprietary. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Carlos Sura grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software for personal or internal business purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Carlos Sura. Except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law or permitted by the license of an incorporated open-source component (see Section 7), you may not:

  • sell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise redistribute the Software;
  • modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the proprietary portions of the Software;
  • remove or alter any proprietary notices, attributions, or labels in the Software;
  • use the Software for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, or to access any system you are not authorized to access.

3. Acceptable Use

The Software is a remote-desktop client. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have lawful authorization to connect to and operate any remote system you access using the Software, and for the security and configuration of those systems. You must not use the Software to gain unauthorized access to any computer, network, or data.

4. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

DEVELOPED BY AN INDIVIDUAL: Vessel RDP is developed, maintained, and provided by Carlos Sura as an individual developer, not a corporate entity.

AS-IS WARRANTY: THE SOFTWARE AND MATERIALS ON THIS WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED ON AN 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' BASIS. CARLOS SURA MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AND HEREBY DISCLAIMS AND NEGATES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR OTHER VIOLATION OF RIGHTS.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT SHALL CARLOS SURA BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF DATA OR PROFIT, OR DUE TO BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE VESSEL RDP SOFTWARE OR WEBSITE, EVEN IF CARLOS SURA HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ORALLY OR IN WRITING OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIABILITIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

5. Accuracy of Materials

The materials appearing on the Vessel RDP website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. We do not warrant that any of the materials on the website are accurate, complete, or current. Carlos Sura may make changes to the materials contained on the website at any time without notice.

6. Links

Carlos Sura has not reviewed all of the sites linked to this website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Carlos Sura of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user's own risk.

7. Third-Party Software and Open Source Licenses

The Software incorporates certain free and open-source components, each subject to the terms of its own license. A complete list of these components and their licenses is distributed with the Software in the THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES file. Notable components include:

  • FreeRDP / WinPR — the RDP protocol engine, licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. VesselRDP applies custom modifications and patches to the FreeRDP source code to resolve upstream bugs, improve performance, or enhance system compatibility.
  • Slint — the user-interface toolkit, used under the Slint Royalty-free License 2.0. As required by that license, a "Made with Slint" acknowledgement appears in the application.
  • PulseAudio (libpulse) — dynamically linked and bundled with the application, licensed under the GNU LGPL v2.1; you may substitute a compatible build.
  • WebKitGTK — used for the Azure AD / Entra ID sign-in window, licensed under the GNU LGPL v2.1. Provided by your own operating system, not bundled with the application.

Such third-party software is provided by its respective authors on an "AS IS" basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied. Your use of each component is governed by its respective license, which prevails over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.

8. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under it terminate automatically, without notice, if you breach any of these Terms. Upon termination you must cease all use of the Software. Sections 4, 7, and 9 survive termination.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of El Salvador, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. You agree that the Software may be subject to export-control and sanctions laws, and you are responsible for complying with all such laws applicable to your use.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

11. Modifications

Carlos Sura may revise these Terms for the website and the Software at any time without notice. By continuing to use the website or the Software you agree to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms.
